£22785.24

Full-Time, fixed term

 (up to 24 months fixed term contract, course length depending)

37.5 hours per week,

Monday to Friday

 

David Lewis provides outstanding education, residential, medical and therapeutic support for people with learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism for people aged 16 years and over. We support people with complex learning and physical disabilities with their daily living, access to social and leisure opportunities and education.

 

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Joiner Apprentice within the Maintenance team.   Being an apprentice, you will be offered the opportunity to grow and develop and to forge a successful career as a Joiner. You’ll be given the chance to learn new skills, gain a recognised qualification, build new relationships and take part in exciting projects, all designed to help you to reach your potential.

 

You will undertake on the job training carrying out joinery works as required, including bench joinery and installation, repair and maintenance of doors, windows, units etc. These will be completed in accordance with relevant specifications and in compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice. You will also provide general support and assistance to the joinery team.

 

To succeed as a Joiner Apprentice you will need to demonstrate an eagerness to learn, a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.  The successful applicant will display a knowledge of and demonstrable interest in joinery, as well as the ability to complete it.     Furthermore, you will need to be fit for the physical demands of the role, be reliable and flexible and demonstrate that you can work safely. GCSE qualifications in Maths and English to at least grade E are desirable; otherwise, support will be given to achieve a Level 1 qualification in Maths and English as part of the apprenticeship.
