Do you know your slide sheets from your sling assessments?

Can you confidently demonstrate best practice while keeping a room full of learners engaged, entertained and awake after lunch?

Do you believe great moving and handling practice is about more than compliance, it's about dignity, independence and keeping people safe?

If the answer is yes, we'd love to hear from you.

At David Lewis, we're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manual Handling Assessor Trainer to join our Learning & Development team and help shape safe practice across our organisation.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys coaching, developing and supporting colleagues. You'll be out and about across our services, helping teams build the skills, confidence and competence needed to deliver safe, person-centred support.

What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging moving and handling training across the organisation
  • Facilitating induction, refresher and specialist training sessions
  • Assessing competency and providing practical workplace coaching
  • Supporting managers to address identified development needs
  • Working alongside therapists, managers and operational colleagues on complex handling requirements
  • Promoting safe working practices and injury prevention
  • Helping ensure we remain compliant with regulatory and best practice requirements

Most importantly, you'll play a vital role in protecting both our colleagues and the people we support.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds an accredited Manual Handling Trainer qualification
  • Has experience delivering moving and handling training within health, social care, education or residential settings
  • Can confidently assess competency and provide constructive feedback
  • Understands person-centred approaches and least restrictive practice
  • Has experience using hoists, slings, transfer aids and specialist equipment
  • Builds positive relationships and inspires confidence in others
  • Enjoys helping people learn, develop and succeed

You'll be someone who can walk into a room, put people at ease and make what can sometimes be a challenging subject both engaging and memorable.

Why David Lewis?

Because training isn't just about ticking boxes.

Every competency assessment completed, every learner coached and every safer technique shared has a direct impact on the quality of life, dignity and wellbeing of the people we support.

This is an opportunity to join a committed Learning & Development team, influence practice across the organisation and genuinely make a difference every single day.

Interested?

If you're passionate about safe practice, love helping others develop their skills and want a role where no two days are the same, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
