Trainee Assistant Practitioner
Part Time - 30 hours
Salary - £25,113.80
This is an exciting opportunity to join the David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Service working as part of a multi-disciplinary team provision. Supporting the Centre Cover Nurses and Specialist Support Nurses, you will help shape the future of the services to meet the needs of the people we support.
David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Services provide support for people who live in residential services and students who access educational services. We are dedicated to improving the quality of lives for people with learning disabilities and or autism, epilepsy, complex learning disorders, including neurological impairments, and other complex support needs. The people we support ages range from 11- to end of life. We have a successful track record, built up over 120 years with expertise and are rated as GOOD by the CQC.
The successful candidate will:-
- Hold a recognised NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care Qualification (or equivalent)
- Completion of the CHAPS (Care Home Assistant Practitioner) or equivalent programme
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Healthcare Assistant role
- Demonstrate clinical skills including venepuncture, ECG and observation monitoring.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to manage a caseload and prioritise with support and have the ability to problem solve and plan ahead
- Be able to work on own initiative and possess excellent time management skills
- Have a good working knowledge of IT applications and experience of EMIS or (similar system)
