37.5 hours per week

per annum

The role will be working 5 days a week Mon-Fri 08.30-16.30hrs some weekend and evenings will be required to meet the needs of the service

 

Our Day Opportunities provide an extensive range of innovative, person centred leisure, vocational and work based activities, in a variety of settings to adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Epilepsy and other complex needs

Our Land Based Services are designed to provide and facilitate a range of innovative and meaningful, work based, vocational, leisure, sensory and social opportunities within the following areas, horticulture, conservation, animal care, garden maintenance, Habitat management and Woodcraft.

We are very excited to be able to offer this exciting opportunity for Activity Team Leader to work within the different areas of this amazing service. This is an exciting time within Land based services with the 23 acre wood, pumpkin patch, Polytunnel & Allotment as well as the Community orchard and Woodcraft.

You will be an integral part of the frontline staff at Land Based Services with the Environmental & Sustainability team.

We are looking for experienced, highly motivated and organised individual with good communication skills and team working skills, who can co-ordinate, develop and deliver ongoing programmes of work, activities to a small group of people we support that will enable them to access all areas of the service providing them with the opportunity on a day to day basis to undertake horticultural, gardening, conservation, woodcraft, Sustainability initiatives and projects, whilst promoting self-esteem, social skills, inclusion, skill development and increased independence not forgetting the importance of team work, making friends and having fun and a positive experience.

This role will have a strong focus on the continued development of our Allotment & Polytunnel area. This is to continue to support sustainable allotment growing sessions for the Farm Shop, Providing produce for our resident animals as well as exhibiting at shows. Experience and knowledge with allotments and growing would be highly desirable. 

In addition you will ensure care plans are up to date and risk assessments are completed and reviewed as and when required. You will also provide leadership and supervision to Support Workers.

Experience/qualifications in one of the following garden maintenance, allotment horticulture or conservation would be desirable but more importantly, a positive approach, can do attitude, strong team player, forward thinking, being able to develop new ideas and the ability to work with minimal supervision at times is essential.
